Pay to Zero

If the loan in question is a line of credit (payment method 5), the Pay to Zero radio button can be selected (if you have the proper field level security) to pay the account to a zero balance. The amount required to bring the account to a zero balance is displayed next to the radio button (see example below). A Pay to Zero transaction, unlike a Payoff  transaction, keeps the account open afterwards.* This button is not available if the Disallow PM5 Pay To Zero option (EZP5PO) is in use.

Once this radio button is selected and any necessary additional information is entered, proceed to Step 3: Payment Amount. If you encounter any error messages during the payment submission process, see Troubleshooting for information about how to resolve them.

*If the loan is in a state of bankruptcy, charge-off, repossession, or foreclosure (General Categories 80-89 or Hold Codes 4 and 5), the Pay to Zero transaction will pay off the loan and close the account.
