Use this field group to view and edit parameters for overdraft transactions on the customer deposit account.

The fields in this field group are as follows:

Description

Amount Code

Mnemonic: DMOVDC

Use this field to indicate a code that defines transfer amounts when processing overdrafts on the customer account. See below for more information.

Possible selections in this field are:

0 - No Overdraft	No overdrafting will occur.
1 - Overdraft Amount	The amount needed to cover the overdraft is transferred for each withdrawal.
2 - Overdraft Amount + Incremental Amount	The amount needed to cover the overdraft plus the amount in the Overdraft Incremental Amount field below is transferred for each withdrawal.
3 - Even Increments Only From Incremental Amount Field	The system transfers enough increments to cover the needed amount for each withdrawal. The amount of these increments is defined in the Overdraft Incremental Amount field below.
4 - Amount of Check	The amount of the check is transferred from the overdraft account for each withdrawal.
5 - Amount of Check + Incremental Amount	The amount of the check plus the amount in the Overdraft Incremental Amount field below is transferred for each withdrawal.
6 - Increments - Take Partial if Enough	The system transfers enough increments to cover the needed amount for each withdrawal. If the overdraft account does not have sufficient funds for a full increment, the amount available or a partial increment will be transferred.
7 - Even Increments Only From Incremental Amount	The system transfers enough increments to cover the needed amount for each withdrawal. This code is used when the amount used by code 3 (above) isn't enough.
8 - Amount of Overdraft + Fee (1 Per Night)	The amount needed to cover the overdraft and the fee amount are transferred once per night instead of at each withdrawal. If the overdraft amount is more than what is available in the overdraft account, the system will only transfer funds up to the account's payable balance.
9 - Incremental Amount + Fee (1 Per Night)	The system transfers enough increments to cover the overdraft and the fee amount once per night instead of at each withdrawal. If the overdraft amount is more than is available in the overdraft account, the system will only transfer funds up to the payable balance.
10 - Amount of Overdraft + Incremental Amount + Fee (1 Per Night)	The system will only transfer funds up to the payable balance if the overdraft amount is more than what is available in the overdraft account.
11 - Multi-Level Overdraft	The system performs a once-per-night transaction in the afterhours for the amount of the overdraft. If the available funds in the overdraft account are insufficient, the system will pull funds from that account's own overdraft accounts. In order for an overdraft account's "sub-accounts" to be compatible with this option, they cannot be assigned codes 8-11 in this field. Also, sub-accounts cannot be set up to use negative limits (The Can Account Go Negative field must be blank and the Negative Limit field should be set to 0 on the Deposit > Account Information > Additional Fields screen). Afterhours functions #45 and #48 are required to use this feature. If your institution wishes to enable multi-level overdrafts, speak to your GOLDPoint Systems representative.

When using overdraft codes 8-10, the system will continue to post items going negative up to the amount of all funds available in all overdraft accounts. The system will then overdraft the funds needed to bring the customer account up to the Minimum Balance limit specified on the Deposit > Account Information > Additional Fields screen. Fields that report information on negative accounts will not be affected unless the account is still negative after this accumulated overdraft. This means that the Times Account Negative field on the Deposit > Account Information > Activity Information screen and the Low Balance Cycle field on the Deposit > Account Information > Account Information screen will not change until after the accumulated overdraft has been processed in the afterhours.

Fee Code

Mnemonic: DMODFC

Use this field to indicate the type of fee to charge to the customer account when when an overdraft is processed. Possible selections in this field are:

0 - No Overdraft Fee

1 - One Fee Per Overdraft

2 - One Overdraft Fee Per Processing Day

3 - Percent of Transfer Amount (From Overdraft Fee % of Transfer field below)

Overdraft Fee % of Transfer

Mnemonic: DMODPR

Use this field to indicate the percentage of the overdraft transfer amount to charge as a fee to the customer account. This field is only used if the Fee Code field above is set to "3 - Percent of Transfer Amount (From O D Fee % of Transfer Field)."

Values must be entered in this field with a decimal. For example, if the transfer amount percentage should be 4 percent and "4" is entered in this field, the value in the field will process as ".004" when <Save Changes> is clicked. If "4." is entered, the value in this field will process as "4.000" instead.

Overdraft Incremental Amount

Mnemonic: DMODAM

Use this field to indicate the incremental transfer amount to use when processing an overdraft on the customer account. This field is only used if the Amount Code field above is set to incremental transfer types. For Codes 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, and 10, this field has a maximum possible value of $999.99. For Code 7, this field has a maximum possible value of $999.99. $99,999.

Overdraft Flat Fee

Mnemonic: DMODFF

Use this field to indicate a flat fee to charge when processing overdrafts on the customer account. This field is only used if the Fee Code field above is set to to Code 1 or 2.

No Overdraft Notice?

Mnemonic: DMNODN

Use this field to indicate whether overdraft notices should be generated for the customer account. When this field is marked, no notices will print and no exception records will be created in GOLD ExceptionManager (GEM) for accounts with overdraft codes 8, 9, or 10.

When this field is marked, the Skip Notice Print field in GEM will automatically be marked when a transaction results in an overdraft.

An option can be set in GOLDVision to skip the printing of all overdraft notices. Mark the NOOD-Skip Print Overdraft Notices field on the GOLDException Options screen (function 45/46) in GOLD Services (Application 8) to stop all overdraft notices from printing.
