Consumer Information Indicator
Customer information codes mainly relate to bankruptcy or debt. This information is included with the Credit Bureau transmission (FPSRP184) and is reported to credit repositories each monthend. It is reported in the Consumer Information Indicator field (Base Field 38, J1 Segment Field 11, J2 Segment Field 11).
The consumer information indicator is used to adjust the Credit Bureau Account Status relative to bankruptcy proceedings. It also provides a means to indicate to the repositories if there is a problem locating the borrower. These codes further clarify the status of an account relative to a bankruptcy of the primary borrower. File maintenance to this field writes to loan history.
Use this version of the Client Code Setup screen to indicate which Consumer Information Indicator codes will be available for selection on the Loans > Bankruptcy and Foreclosure > Bankruptcy Detail screen (see the linked help for more information about this field). Simply use the checkbox fields next to each code in the list view to enable or disable desired codes.
Note that codes I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, and Z are obsolete as of April 2021. Your institution may want to uncheck these codes to prevent their use (their functionality is covered by code Q).
