This is the type of security held for collateral for the loan. This information is usually entered when the loan is originated, if your institution uses the Security Code in loan applications. Available security types can be selected from the pop-up box after clicking the list icon .

 

If a loan was assigned a security code, and that security code was laster deleted from the system, you may get an error message on this screen. If so, just select a new valid security code from this pop-up list, or have a manager add the security code back to the list (see Note below).

 

Note: If you have proper security clearance, you can add codes to this pop-up list using the Loans > System Setup Screens > Security Codes screen.
