Navigation: CIM GOLD User Guide >
CIM GOLD offers convenience and adaptability to your institution's individual needs.
CIM GOLD includes the following features:
•A user-friendly tree view navigation. You can also search for a screen by its name. See Screen Details below.
•You can choose which screens your institution uses. See Subscribe to Mini-Applications in the Security manual for more information.
•Has the ability to send list view tables of data to GOLD Writer or GOLDMiner or export data to a tab-delimited file you can later open in programs such as Microsoft® Excel. See Right-click Functionality under System Basics.
•Allows interrupting a transaction to process a customer. See Interrupt a Transaction in the CIM GOLDTeller User's Guide for more information.
•Screens are designed to combine data from several sources to eliminate jumping from screen to screen.
•Can create collection comments to display what activity has taken place on an account and create follow-up activity. Additionally, you can create customer comments that are tied to the customer and not the account. See these topics for more information:
•Allows you to pop out a screen and look at other screens at the same time. See Pop-out Screens under General Navigation Information for more information.
CIM GOLD also offers a customer information system called Customer Relationship Management or CIF. CIF allows you to group family members or business associates and accounts together. CIF is used to maximize the use of existing information for building customer relationships. The Households screen is the main screen used to view household information, add new members to a household, update address information, or add new accounts. If you have proper security clearance, you can reach this screen through the Loans > Marketing and Collections screen > CIF tab.
If two account owners need to be merged together (for example, the account owners married each other), you can use the Customer Relationship Management > Combine Names/Addresses screen and Merge screens to merge the households, names, and accounts. If two account owners on an account split up for whatever reason (divorce, business dissolves), you can split them into separate households using the Split Household screen. |
The first screen that opens when you initially log onto CIM GOLD is the Customer Search Screen. You can enter a customer name or account number to search for accounts. See also: Main Menu Bar, System Basics, and General Navigation Information for more information on how to use CIM GOLD. |
With every application, defining some terms is helpful. See Basic CIM GOLD Concepts and Terminology and System Basics for definitions of common terms and processes in CIM GOLD. |
Make it a habit to read your screens thoroughly. Many of the screens have specific directions listed on them that are not included in this manual. At the top of most screens is an alert bar and status bar, as shown below:
![]()
This is a quick way for you to see important information about the account. See the Account Status topic for more information.
Also, many fields on screens have an error-provider icon ( |
The system automatically enters dollars and decimals in appropriate fields. Generally, you will not need to enter a decimal point or a comma when entering this type of information in CIM GOLD. However, you can also manually enter a decimal, and when you navigate away from the field, the system will automatically place the appropriate amount of zeroes on the end based on the number of digits in the field after the decimal. |
If you have already clicked <Save Changes> to process changes you have made on a screen, simply type over the same field with the correct information, then click <Save Changes> again. If you need to make a change to information that can only be changed or corrected with a transaction (such as Principal Balance or Account Balance), use CIM GOLDTeller and reverse the transaction or use the File Maintenance transaction. Most monetary fields are not maintainable. |
Some of the fields on the various screens are default fields. If a default field does not have information entered in it, the system will enter information into the field from other sources, such as from institution options, set up files, etc. Some of these fields will be shown with default information already entered. If they contain the correct information, leave them as they are. If you need to change the default information, type the correct data over the default data, then click <Save Changes>. |
Clicking <Save Changes> processes any new or changed data in the fields on the screen. It is important to click <Save Changes> after making any correction, change, addition, or deletion in a field. However, when you have several changes on a screen or are entering data on a new screen, you can enter all necessary changes or new data, then click <Save Changes> to process all of the changes at the same time. |
Your designated security officer should have set up a user name for you. If not, contact your security officer. You cannot access any GOLDPoint Systems applications without a user name and security code.
In addition, your security officer can decide which screens you can access and which fields on screens you can file maintain. For example, if your job does not require data entry of any kind, you may only have access to inquiry mode functions, which only allows you to view information. If your job deals specifically with loans, you may only have access to the Loan system and those systems associated with it, such as CIF.
For more information about how to set up security features, see the Security in CIM GOLD help. |
The system will give you three tries to enter a correct user name and security code. If, after three attempts, you have not entered a valid security code, the system will lock out access. If this occurs, contact your security officer to have your violation reset. |
