Loans > System Setup Screens > Notepad Codes Screen

Notepad codes are created (and added to the list view on this screen) by clicking <Create New>, indicating a 4-character Code number and brief Description of the code, and clicking <Save Changes>.

Previously created notebook codes' Descriptions can be edited by selecting the code in the list view on this screen, but remember: When a notepad code is applied to a loan (on the Notepad screen), the Code is stored on the loan record but the Description is not. Therefore, Code and Description combinations should not be changed once put in use or else the system will display inaccurate notepad information.

The following Code (NQDCOD) and Description (NQDES1) combinations are already defined by the system and are not available for creation on this screen:

Code Description
AADV Additional Advance
BKRPBankruptcy
DISPDisputes
EXCP Underwriting Exception
EXTN Extensions
INSPInspections
RESVReserves

Notepad record retention periods can be indicated for your institution on the Deposits > Definitions > System History Retention screen.

Click any column header to organize the list view by that column's information type.
