Search for ABA fields

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page  Print this Topic

Use the Search for ABA fields on the ABA Number Lookup screen to search for a bank or financial institution. Once you find an institution in this list, you can see its address, phone number, and whether or not it allows ACH or wire transfers. The system automatically updates and adds institutions to this record on a regular basis. If an institution is not found in this record, and you think it should be here, contact your GOLDPoint Systems client solutions specialist and inquire about adding them.

Use the Find field to search for an institution based on its ABA (routing/transit) number or based on the financial institution's name, as explained in the following steps:

To search for an institution based on the routing/transit number (ABA number):

1.Select the Routing Number radio button in the Search By field group.

2.Enter the complete routing/transit number of the institution you are looking for in the Find field. Or you can enter the first two or three digits of the routing/transit number (e.g., 012).

3.Click findmatchesbutton. All matching records will be displayed in the list view below.

To search for an institution based on its name:

1.Select the Name radio button in the Search By field group.

2.Enter the complete name of the institution, or just the first few letters of the institution's name (e.g., First) in the Find field. Note: You can enter capitalized or non-capitalized letters. The system regards them the same.

3.Click findmatchesbutton. All matching records will be displayed in the list view below.

Use the radio button fields below the Find field to refine your search to institutions with certain features:

If you want to find institutions that allow ACH transactions to and from the institution, select the ACH Eligible radio button. "ACH Eligible" indicates that this bank is a member of the National Automated Clearinghouse Association of Banks. If the bank is not a member, it is not allowed to receive or originate electronic funds transfers through the ACH system. The list of ACH-eligible institutions is updated automatically every Monday.

If you want to find institutions that allow wire transfers, select the Wire Eligible radio button. The list of wire-eligible institutions is updated every day.

If you want to find all institutions from your search, select the All Entries radio button.

The Record Count field beneath the search fields displays the total number of records displayed in the list view after performing a search. If a search returns more than 197 records, a message will display telling the user there are more records to display, as shown below:
